My fic for the Rusty Quill Big Bang 2024 is out! The latest installment of my fairy tale series, Spin Spider Spin. Please mind the tags on this one, it's heavy on the body horror and violence. I've been calling it the timsasha fairy tale horror fic for a reason.
Thank you to my incredible partners @phynoma and @rhywhitefang for their wonderful art, and to @pilesofnonsense for organizing this event.
Summary: "Another monster for you to slay?” Tim asks when he sees his brother reading through a stack of letters. Mayors and governors and village heads have sent out the call. Everyone knows Danny’s name.
“A witch,” Danny says with a devil-may-care grin.
---
“Nothing gets in or out, not even with the key.” He taps his pocket, where he keeps the one key that he did not give her. “And believe me when I say that’s a good thing. What lies beyond this door is incredibly dangerous, so I would advise you not to try opening it.”
“Of course,” Sasha agrees, burning with curiosity. “Thanks for the warning.”

The Witch and the Visitor
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/gvbu1fV by Jadealaide Jon was not expecting a knock on the door that day. At first he assumed it was someone looking for The Witch, looking for some spell or elixir to make them attractive or to make their supposed soulmate fall deeply in love with them. However, when Jon opened the door, he was not greeted with the sight of a lovesick youth, but instead with a large man dressed in travelling clothes, freckled face adorned with a small smile that looked almost nervous with the way it reached his slightly flushed cheeks. “Martin?” - Not long ago, Jon the witch received a visit from Martin Blackwood. The Magnus Archives
Season One Notes and Speculation
Main Cast
Spoilers for Season One Below the Break!!!
Martin Blackwood- Helper for Jonathan whom he doesn’t like. Speaks Polish and Jonathan has disdain for his Latin. Claustrophobic. “Blessed relief if you ask me.” Jon about Martin being out with a stomach sickness. Martin comes back in MAG 21, Freefall with squishy squelchy stuff that Jon reacts to with “God- Martin!! What the hell is- what are these things?!” Ran into Jane Prentiss in MAG 22, Colony in which he stays holed up in his house for 13 days as Jane and her parasites kept trying to get in. He is invited to stay in the room Jon sleeps in during late nights post his incident. He feels stuck in the web of the archive. Jon thought he was a ghost in Infestation (MAG 39). He writes poetry and thinks tapes have a sort of lofi charm. It’s why he has the extra recorder. He feels incredibly guilty over leaving Tim and Jonathan in the tunnels, starting to tear up over it after apologizing in Human Remains (MAG 40).
Elias Buchard- The head of the Magnus Institute, doesn’t want Jonathan and crew looking into the Lukas family because they fund the institute. He hates Jonathan more than Martin and thought the parasites were an over reaction in Infestation (MAG 39).
Sasha James - Helper for Jonathan whom he doesn’t mind. Sets off the fire alarm to try and survive the worms. She joined as a practical researcher. Wishes she could’ve quit ages ago. She finds the table with the crazy geometric patterns and then the tape recorder glitches. Infestation (MAG 29). A feminine voice says into it afterwards “I see you.” The scream heard on tape is Jane Prentiss dying as seen in Human Remains (MAG 40).
Jonathan Sims- Head of the Magnus Archives, rather detached. This being said in Colony (MAG 22) he is shown to have started turning over a new leaf as he offers Martin his room in the archives. In Skintight (MAG 28) he shows an improvement in people skills as he treats the statement giver with a bit more respect than Naomi. He is adamant about not becoming another mystery, to make sure his successor knows exactly what happened. Infestation (MAG 39). Feels like he’s being watched when he records real statements. He also used to smoke according to Elias.
Tim Stoker - Helper for Jonathan whom he slowly seems to grow a distaste for, remaking he’s thankful for him being out of the office. He’s into Robert Smirke’s architecture as of A Distortion (MAG 26). Found tunnels in the archives and went crazy with gas to kill the worms in Infestation (MAG 39).
Other Characters
Sebastian Adekoya- Friend of Jared Hopsworth who delivers MAG 17, Bone Turner’s Tale. Died 2006, crushed on the road.
Angela- Witch from MAG 14 Piecemeal who slowly devoured the parts of Lee Rentoul and Paul Noriega through cardboard boxes with severed articles of various body parts
Asag- Fire mythos thing from First Aid
Sarah Baldwin- Victim of the Angler Fish (MAG 1) who later reappears in Skintight (MAG 28) being super quiet and also talking with a shadowy figure. She seems to remove her skin and then pull it tight and staple it quite regularly.
Breekon and Hope- The delivery boys from the end of one of the mags that give Jon a spider web lighter. Anatomy Class (MAG 34).
Antonio Blake- The Dreamer from MAG 11 Dreamer who saw a strange version of London and Gertrude dying in TMA FAKE NAME, KEEP EYES OUT
Edwin Burrowes- Catholic priest from Burnt Out. In Confession (MAG 19) he says a prayer in the house and feels heat. Then he starts to pray for himself and a demonic presence says through him “I am not for you. I am marked.” He proceeds to eat a human at the ushering of some unknown figure in Desecrated Host (MAG 20)
Michael Crew- Returned The Bone Turner’s Tale to Chiswick Library in MAG 17, The Bone Turner’s Tale
Harriet Fairchild- Went skydiving with Simon in MAG 21, Freefall. Said Robert was gone for 15 mins.
Simon Fairchild- First shows up in MAG 21, Freefall and tells Robert to “Enjoy sky blue” before sending him to a weird groundless realm. Robert Kelly is then later ate by the sky.
Raymond Fielding- Housed many people on Hilltop Road and was missing his right hand when he died
Trevor Herbert- Killed vampires for a living and died of lung cancer in the lobby in Vampire Killer (MAG 10). Dead as restated in Taken ill (MAG 36)
Naomi Herne- First ever person to make a statement with Jonathan and survived the Lukas’ in her ep, MAG 13 Alone
Timothy Hodge - Man who slept with Harriet Lee and heard her explode. DEAD AS OF A Distortion (MAG 26) for got turned into hive meat.
Jared Hopsworth- Friend of Sebastian Adekoya who assaults him consistently, first mentioned in MAG 17 The Bone Turner’s Tale. He, for instance, turns over an entire cart of returned books. He takes the book and runs out. He comes back later in the episode with more bones. And apparently more limbs
Mary Keay- Gerry Keay’s mother
Gerard (Gerry) Keay- Burns the Lightner books (seen in Page Turner) and was found covered in eyes and burn marks in MAG 12 First Aid. He puts a stop to the invisible flame.
Moira Kelly- Sees her son Robert Kelly get ate by the sky in MAG 21, Freefall
Robert Kelly- Simon Fairchild tells him to enjoy sky blue and then he gets ate by the sky in MAG 21, Freefall
Melanie King- Ghost hunter who sees Sarah Baldwin do her skin tricks in Skintight (MAG 28).
Jergner Leitner- Book maker and has a library, seen in Page Turner. Reseen in MAG 17 The Bone Turner’s Tale. Actually seen as a man in Old Passages (MAG 35) in which he asks people to dig underground.
Evan Lukas- Fell in love with Naomi Herne and then died.
Nathaniel Lukas- Owns the boating company for the Tundra as of Boatswain’s Call (MAG 33).
Peter Lukas- Captain of the Tundra as seen in Boatswain’s Call (MAG 33).
Agnes Montague- Witch lady with the hand tied around her with a chain, died the same day as the tree getting pulled down and apple melted
Julia Montork- Daughter of Robert Montork and witness of MAG 9- A Father’s Love
Jane Prentiss- Red dress lady from Squirm. She seems to be a hive for parasites and is no longer the actual Jane Prentiss as of Colony (MAG 22). She uses Martin’s phone in that episode to pose as him while trying to Squirm him. She says at the end through his phone, “Keep him. We have had our fun. He will want to see it when the archivists crimson fate arrives.” A statement by her exists somewhere in the archives. Hive (MAG 32) has her explaining how she felt itchy all the time and all the holes throughout her. “You can see it, and log it, and still never understand it.” Presumably she becomes what she is today after sticking her arm into the nest and screaming out in pain. She dies due to Elias making the CO2 go off in Human Remains (MAG 40).
Joseph Rainer - The man who survived the shell blast with Wilfrid in The Piper (MAG 7).
Maxwell Rainer- First appearance is MAG 9 in which he is described as the “defrocked pentecostal leader” who became a cult figure for The People’s Church of the Divine Host
Gertrude Robinson - Former Archivist, died, presumably in The Archives. Oh boy! So, in Burnt Offering (MAG 37) it is revealed her hair and image was used in some twisted altar thingy and a dude who smashes a bottle there has all his things go up in flames.
Lesere Saraki- Nurse from MAG 12 First Aid who feels watched after the incident in the hospital
Mikaele Selesa- First appears in Piecemeal (MAG 14) where he tries to sell something to Norigea. Reappears in Lost and Found (MAG 38) as he sells Andre Ramao a vase.
Michael Shelly- “How would a melody describe itself when asked?” He needs help, likes giggling at Sasha. Says that the hive (Jane Prentiss) is rash. Knew Jon, Tim, and Martin’s names. Shows how to kill the worms in A Distortion (MAG 26).
Robert Smirke- An architect. He worked for Jergner Leitner to build an underground club as seen in Old Passages (MAG 35).
Nathaniel Thorp- Immortal being from Cheating Death (MAG 29)
Places, Concepts, and Organizations
Breekon and Hope Deliveries- Company that takes away the coffin from MAG 2 Do Not Open. Also the same company that gives the church the pale yellow stool in MAG 20, Desecrated Host.
Formula of Sacred Geometry- The intricate patterns we’ve been seeing that Jonathan says there are different schools
Hill Top Road- The place where Burnt Out takes place, had the apple underneath the bleeding tree in the intricate pattern box
The Magnus Institute- Founded 1818, has a series of tunnels under its building and seems to slow the horrors when inside its building.
Open Skydiving- An organization that seems to have never existed. Fairchild’s are connected to it
The People’s Church of the Divine Host- A small cult that grew around the defrocked pentecostal minister, Maxwell Rainer, in London during the late 80’s and mid 90’s
St. Thomas Hospital- Had the fire incident from First Aid and the nurse still feels watched there
Speculation
My inclinations about the horrors having certain types seems to be spot on. You have the Leitner Tomes, Sacred Geometry, Prentiss Parasites, Breekon and Hope distinctless entities, the Hands, Strange Music- even if I’m not spot on you can definitely group some of the ongoings together.
As for characters, Jonathan is slowly becoming a better person as he unlocks the skill empathy by being subjected to horrors himself. I believe the Lukas family will play a big part in the upcoming season as Elias seems to becoming more of a big player and with Elias comes more talk of funding and whatnot. Something I’d like to point out is that the institute is most likely not a good organization as all of the tendrils led to the archives and even Michael seems to hint that the Hive of parasites are right in wanting to destroy it.
Speaking of, Michael himself is then drawn into incredibly questionable territory. He used the attack to rid the archives of his recorded files and taught them how to fight Prentiss. He wants the institute around which just confirms to me that it has to be a rotten group.
As for where the plot goes from here I’m not entirely sure beyond more Lukas and Micheal involvement. We now have the added worries of Sasha and her experience with the Not Sasha voice we heard as well as questions as to who killed Gertrude Robinson as WELL as why she was being used in the horrors rituals.
Now for just my fun thoughts- I adore Martin. I think he’s my favorite character. He has so much thought and empathy put into all he does. Like the dude was running scenario after scenario in his mind to make sure everything would be okay when Jane attacked- and it sort of was because they fended her off and saved Tim. Alexander J Newall also kills his voice acting- I love how timid sounding he is and the delivery of his lines to Jon about being sorry for leaving him behind- AAAGGH it literally tore my heart into bits.
Anyways that’s enough rambling. Stay tuned for my season 2 notes and ideas!

Wednesday is NOT a rip-off of Harry Potter
This is something that I thought should be obvious. In fact I could swear I wrote a post like this over a year ago but apparently (if I had made such a post) it is lost now. So here's the new one. Lately I've seen a fresh spike in people insisting that the Netflix series Wednesday is a "rip off" of Harry Potter. "It the aesthetic is Harry Potter!" Really? How? Do you think Harry Potter was the first and only school to be a haunted castle? I guess you don't remember Gravedale High (animated series from 1990). Much like the modern Monster High, Gavedale high was a show about a school of monsters.
Before Gravedale High there was the animated TV movie Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School (1988) where Shaggy got a job as a PE teacher at a boarding school for the daughters of the classic movie monsters. This, very likely, inspired Monster High.
And before that there was the book series The Worst Witch and the first TV movie inspired by the books, which featured a song number from Tim Curry. This was about a little girl attending Witch School.
If we go back even further the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker has Van Helsing suggest that Dracula attended Scholomance (translates to "School of Magic") which has its roots in Eastern European folklore and helped inspire Yennefer's backstory in The Witcher. All of these pre-date Harry Potter. "But the students are divided into groups just like in Harry Potter." Yeah. So? "Houses" are a tradition in boarding schools in the UK and parts of the US. Also Nevermore Academy in Wednesday is mostly populated by supernatural entities that divide up in cliques based on what species the student is. You're going to tell me your school didn't have cliques? Jocks, nerds, Goths, rich kids, bad boys, etc. I'm not sure how a boarding school setting can even be done without dividing up into factions. You'd have to make a conscious effort to avoid it and it would come off as very awkward and unnatural. Harry Potter isn't as original as you seem to think it is. "But the uniforms have stripes." Okay, I'll let you have that one but the stripes and color patterns are different. The plotline of season 1 of Wednesday is closer to the live action Monster High musical movie (but with a more serious tone) than anything else. In the first Monster High live action movie the main villain turns out to be a teacher who is also a Hyde monster. In Wednesday the main villain is a teacher who is manipulating a Hyde Monster.
And both deal with classic monsters in a boarding school setting and allegories of prejudice.
And then you get the annoying argument from fake Addams Family fans of "But Wednesday didn't have any powers in the original." Oh, on the contrary. The new show says she inherited psychic abilities from Morticia. Morticia telling fortunes, sensing things, and even using a crystal ball comes up in the 1960s Addams Family TV series. Grandmama uses a crystal ball in the 90s Addams Family animated series. The 1970s Addams Family Halloween special has it that the spirit of Halloween / Anthropomorphic personification of Halloween "Uncle Shy" (implied to be the Great Pumpkin or you can retroactively say he was Jack Skellington or Sam from Trick 'r Treat). When your Uncle is literally the spirit of Halloween your family can have whatever you want in it. Wednesday even uses telepathy at one point in the 2019 Addams family animated movie franchise. And there's a conga line of Addams Family member ghosts in The Addams Family Broadway musical. They have a pet sentient hand. And no. It's not just that "Their Goth game is that good." Finally, I don't think there's a student at Nevermore Academy who is younger than sixteen. Hogwarts starts at age eleven. Twenty-one-year-old Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) doesn't look much like eleven-year-old to seventeen-year-old Daniel Radcliffe to me.
Stop giving J. K. Rowling so much credit.

Have some Halloween movies in no particular order
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is a great time, if you can find it. It's a love letter to so-bad-it's-good horror movies from the 50's and 60's which were all ambition and no talent e.g. Plan 9 from Outer Space and Manos The Hands of Fate. One of the funniest and most quotable movies I've ever seen!
House is as gorgeous as it is spooky and goofy! If you've not seen it, you're missing out. It's made by a director who made advertisements and a lot of the special effects are what would have been common in Japanese ads at the time.
Martyrs goes on the list for that one asshole who needs something extreme. Not that it's a bad movie, of course. But if you're that asshole and have yet to see it, have fun! If you don't know what I'm talking about, this film is not for the faint of heart and I mean it! Look up "French extremism" if you're curious. Again, if you've not seen it and don't like lots of blood and gore and little left to the imagination, this is absolutely not for you.
Valerie and her Week of Wonders is a gorgeous example of Czech new-wave, about a girl becoming a woman in a village of vampires! Strongly recommend this one if you like House, it's super colorful and whimsical!
Tetsuo the Iron Man is my idea of a more fun kind of extreme film. This is one of those movies I've seen several times and can't seem to remember the story, but suffice to say it's a wild ride about a metal fetishist who becomes sort of a metal monster in a similar fashion to Tetsuo in Akira becoming a giant flesh monster. It's got a very goofy tone and is shockingly wet for a movie about rebar.
The Thing is never not fun. I'm sorry to say I don't know my Carpenter as well as I should, I'm just too stuck on how much I love The thing and may never move forward. Yes I've seen Halloween, just I like The Thing better.
The Devils is a movie you can't watch in your home in a legal capacity, Warner Bros is never releasing this one on home video. Rest assured you can find it. It's a Ken Russell film about a whole convent of nuns (the Mother Superior played by Vanessa Redgrave) are so in lust with this priest, played by Oliver Reed, that they all fein demon possession to evade persecution. The complete version of the movie includes a scene in which all the nuns bang a crucifix. It's one of those movies I say the production team went to "the cool face store", because wow there's a lot of cool looking faces!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, because there will always be virgins
Young Frankenstein was Mel Brooks's only funny movie. Fight me! (men in tights was okay i guess)
Bram Stoker's Dracula. What more need I say?
I can't easily pick any one Jan Svankmajer film, so this is the Svankmajer portion of the list. For the uninitiated, he was a Czech stop-motion animator who made these hyper realistic claymation films, often with a dark context. My favorite feature length films of his are Alice (a telling of Alice in Wonderland), Faust, and Otesanek (his final film and magnum opus, aka Little Otik aka Greedy Guts, based on the fairy tale Otesanek about tree-root baby turned vore-monster). His films aren't necessarily scary, just very unsettling and disturbing.
Hellraiser 2 because I haven't seen it yet and people keep telling me it's the good one, as if the first one wasn't delightfully generous????
The Witches is a movie that upset my very Christian grandmother one time when I was a kid, watching it on TV at her house. I don't think she understood the point that the witches aren't the good guys. I know it's irrelevant, I just thought it was funny. I miss you, Nana.
The Worst Witch. Can someone tell me where to watch this? I never saw it before and I wanna see some tacky Tim Curry schlock
eXistenZ is a movie which I only saw for the first, second, third, and fourth time ever one week last year and I'm ashamed as a Cronenberg fan that it took me so long! Not necessarily his most Halloween-y movie (I'd argue that would be The Fly), it's just a lot of fun.
Think I'll stop there, that's a good sized list.
Add your own recs! What do you watch this time of year?

Halloween/Fall Season TBR 2023
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to write down my TBR for the fall/Halloween season and mention some of the new books that are coming out this year. These titles are the ones I read every year and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a scary book to read (or really any murder mysteries, it feels like this is the prefect season to read Murder Mysteries).
~Books that are on my TBR~ : (Pretty much I recommend everything on this list)
Coraline by Neil Gailman
Halloween Tree by Ray Bardbury
Pumpkin Heads
Nancy Drew (This and the next few are perfect for the cozy weather)
Judy Bolton
Dana Sisters
Connie Blair
Hardy Boys
Scary Godmother
Edgar Allen Poe
The Invisible man
Nightmare Before Christmas Long Live the Pumpkin Queen
Bunnicula
Dracula by Bram Stoker
Frankenstein by Mary Shelly
Garlic and the Vampire
Garlic and the Witch
Halloween Party by Agatha Christie (first time I am going to read this)
Sherlock Holmes
Then there was none by Agatha Christie
Addams family
Goosebumps books
Mirror Lake By Juneau Black
The House of Lost Horizon Sarah Jewell mystery
Sleepy Hallow by Washington Irving
Harry Potter (I also read these around Xmas time too)
~OP Books I recommend~
The Shady Hallow mysteries. I love this series and it feels like you can read this series no matter what time of year but the big ones that I recommend from this series are Cold Clay & Mirror Lake.
I love Mirror Lake the most out of the series and the description of food and the autumn ambience is wonderful.
~Soon to release books (I hope)~ :
DeepHaven by Ethan M. Aldridge- I saw the artwork that this author has been posting and I thought it was gorgeous. I did some digging but did not really want to spoil it too much for myself. I am getting very Eldritch horror vibes from the artwork.
Unfamiliar vol 2 by Haley Newsome- I am in love with this series, it has magic it has witches it has food. What more could I ask for.
Twilight Falls by Juneau Black- This is one of my highly anticipated books that are coming out this year. I love the Shady Hollow Mysteries series, this come out after November, but I am still super hype for it.
Tim Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas the Battle for Pumpkin King by Dan Conner- I have been collecting anything really Nightmare for a few a years now and when I saw this I freaked, I can’t wait for it.
Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree- I loved Legends & Lattes and when I found it there was going to be a 2nd book, I was thrilled I can’t wait for it.
Catch me If you Candy by Ellie Alexander- Recently I have been wanting to get more cozy mysteries and this series is like one of the biggest series I have seen. I am hoping to start collecting the series soon.
~New Books~ :
Most of these books are going to be Cozy Mysteries. I love Mysteries and Cozy Mysteries are right in my alley. First of all, I will not spoil mysteries for anyone if I can help it, so I will keep description vague. Most of these books are new to me and I am keeping myself blind incept for like the over storyline. (These are not new releases they are just new to me)
Fatal Fudge Swirl by Meri Allen- this is the third book in the Ice Cream Shop Mysteries books, I am trying to collect the others and read them in order. So, this mystery takes place around Halloween and there is a wedding, and tragedy strikes at the wedding.
Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant by Darci Hannah- this is another cozy that takes place around time Halloween time. Halloween time is here, and our MC Lindsey is not really jazzed about it, because she lives in the town spooky haunted lighthouse, so teenagers make it a test of courage to come up and scare each other silly. However, this year her best friend asked to do a spooky episode for her social media what was supposed to be a night of ghost hunting and fun scares turns sinister.
One Poison Pie by Lynn Cahoon- Now this one doesn’t take place on around Halloween (as far from what I know I haven’t not read this book yet, so I fix this later if I am wrong) but it’s having to do with witches and what’s better she is an amateur detective kitchen witch. Mia is our main character and right now she has hit a rough patch in her life when boyfriend has left her greener pastures and she is now jobless. So, she heads back home to her grandma’s house. It’s the first book in this series so I don’t know too much about it.
A Batter of Life and Death by Ellie Alexander- the only thing I know is that this book takes place in fall and I just starting to get into the Bakeshop Mystery series. So, I am keeping my self-blind and I can’t wait to read it.
No Parm No Foul by Linda Reilly- this is the second book in the grilled cheese shop mystery, and it takes place around Halloween. I read the first book and I like it, so I want to try to get the second to see how it is.

hii i was the anon who was asking for spooky recs, and i just wanna thank you for responding with so many great suggestions!! and absolutely, id love to hear any of your recommendations for b list or even mainstream movies!
im incredibly uneducated when it comes to movies. like, ive never seen hocus pocus or coraline (those are on my list this year). and i think i want to watch the lost boys, since it seems like something i would like. i love love love the fear street trilogy on netflix and the most recent ‘it’ movies (i have seen the original tv series). but yeah, definitely looking for more spooky szn watches and reads, esp if they have a good set of characters who are fun to hang around with.
(i also wanna recommend kate alice marshall to you—she’s a middle grade and young adult horror/spooky writer, and her young adult books have a good range of representation. rules for vanishing is my favorite out of all of them, and her books all are different cases that take place in the same universe, and they’re formatted as a found footage/investigation type of thing, where it switches between the victims written narrative statement and the recorded interview and other pieces of evidence. just thought i would recommend, since she’s super underrated!)
Ohhh thank you for the author rec! Found footage is one of my top favorite genres for horror, so I will totally look into those.
I'm glad you wrote back because right after I posted that first ask, I thought of some more things. I'm also going to ask for anyone reading this to give some recs in the comments if they have anything to contribute?
Okay, I'm going to offer another author who fundamentally changed me and the way I write:
Laini Taylor is a YA author, (I consider her YA for adults, if that makes sense) and her series Daughter of Smoke and Bone is unlike anything I've ever read. There are three huge books in the series: Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Days of Blood and Starlight, and Dreams of Gods and Monsters. They are so beautifully written; her words haunt me. Also, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
Fear Street is a great series! I wish Netflix would do another. There are, of course, so many great spooky/horror things to recommend, but I'm just going to offer a few of the ones that I grew up with and helped shape me creatively that weren't already mentioned in the previous post:
I'd say watch every Tim Burton film, especially Beetlejuice
The Others (paranormal, wish I could watch it again for the first time)
The original Halloween
Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (campy, hilarious)
Young Frankenstein (iconic, brilliant, hilarious)
Blair Witch Project (found footage)
Ghostbusters (hilarious, iconic)
The Craft
Ginger Snaps
Definitely Lost Boys and Fright Night (the original)
And if you are in a vampire mood also Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992
The Canadian series Lost Girl (she is a succubus, there are werewolves and all sorts of magical characters in this)
The Netflix show American Horror Story. Everyone has their favorite season when it comes to this show, but the first one, Murder House, is totally a must watch. I wish I could watch it again for the first time.
I'm also a huge Vincent Price and Universal Monsters fan, so any of those if you are in the mood for "The Classics".
Those are just a few, I'm sure I'll think of something perfect the second I post this. Can't wait to know if you end up watching/liking any of them! xoxoxoxoxox
